Charity on the hunt for breast cancer survivors to model in fashion show

Are you the next Breast Cancer Care top model?

Breast Cancer Care Show

Leading UK charity Breast Cancer Care is on the hunt for models to strut their stuff in its annual fundraising fashion show.

The Breast Cancer Care fashion show claims to be a ‘fundraising event like no other’ in that all models on the catwalk have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Living with the loss of self-esteem and the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy can be not only debilitating but very isolating. So the show is instrumental in proving to women and men that, despite a diagnosis of breast cancer and the results of treatment for the disease, it is still possible to look and feel good.

A previous model said of her experience: “Thank you so much for giving me the wonderful opportunity to model in The Show, and to create some unbelievable memories and to meet the most amazing group of people. I am still walking around with a grin on my face and a warm glow in my heart. I have not left that cloud yet and it is hard to believe it all really happened.”

If you’d love the chance to have your hair and make-up done by a professional, be styled by the fashion expert Hilary Alexander, and to experience the feeling of owning the catwalk in front of 1,600 people, then this could be right up your street!

Next year’s show will be returning to Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel in London on October 4, 2018.

The closing date for applications is 31 January 2018. The selection process will commence at the start of February and all applicants will be contacted by the end of February. Both men and women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer are encouraged to apply to take part in the 2018 Breast Cancer Care Show.

  1. You guys are awesome and I wish I’d learned about this event earlier!

I’m a 1 year breast cancer survivor (bilateral mastectomy 12/21/17 and I live in Southern California, USA.

I had both breasts reconstructed with implants at the time of the mastectomy, but ended up losing the one on my right side due to complications in February of this year.

I’ve hidden my feelings about my ‘disfigured ‘ body …I’m ashamed to feel sad or mad or frustrated having only one breast, when I know how lucky I am to be alive.

Your event validates my feelings as your charity really understands the impact of the physical changes cancer causes.

I cannot wait to see pictures from your show!

Please give your UK models a huge hug from a fellow survivor in the US. They are brave and strong and beautiful and together we will win this war against cancer while holding our heads high and acknowledging that beauty does come from inside!

Keep up the amazing work and thank you!
