Winter may not be your favourite season of the year, but there’s no denying that it’s the cosiest!
As the days become shorter and the mercury drops, we rely on our homes to provide us with winter comfort and entertainment. It’s a time where we hunker down in our homes enjoying tasty soups, lighting the fire, getting out the knitted throws and burning scented candles.
If you’ve recently had surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, you’ll probably be spending a lot more time at home recovering and resting. You can make simple changes so that the time you spend resting up, is more enjoyable and cosier.
Here we’ve compiled some of our favourite winter-comfort tips for creating a cosy home this winter.
If you’ve been searching for inspiring ways to keep warm and cosy this winter, look no further…
1. Hot drinks
Try a natural hot drink like peppermint or ginger tea. The Twinings Pure Peppermint Tea is a wonderfully refreshing caffeine-free tea made with all natural ingredients. The peppermint tea can also help to aid digestion, diarrhoea, constipation and nausea – great if chemo is making you feel queasy.
2. Snuggle nest
Cuddle up in a cosy snuggle nest. Pull out every blanket and throw you’ve got and gather them all to your living room to make a nest. Select some of your favourite movies or box sets to binge-watch and then get lost in a world of snuggliness!
Have a fireplace or wood stove (lucky you!)? Now is the time to use it. The use of a fireplace will add physical warmth, whilst also emitting an ambient and soothing glow around the room.
4. Give in to extra sleep
Cancer and its treatment can leave you feeling more tired than usual. What could be cosier than a ‘bed day’ under super soft covers? Our exclusive Live Better With Bamboo bedwear range (including fitted sheets and duvet covers) are luxuriously soft and comfortable. . Baths are not only great for unwinding and soaking away the stresses of the day, they can also play an important role in boosting your immune system, improving circulation and reducing pain. Soak until you feel nice and warm. Retain the lovely warmth from the bath with a soothing heated neck wrap
