Why do people living with cancer recommend this product?

Why do people living with cancer recommend this product?

I was thrilled to receive my little pack of goodies when I got home from work today and immediately hot-footed it round to my sister's house. C was diagnosed with breast cancer about 8 weeks ago and is having some aggressive chemo. She often neglects her skin so I really wanted her to try your products so that she can feel the best she can, even on the dark days...the immediate big hit was the Itchy Skin Oi. C has been wearing her wig all day and was scratching away at her scalp when I arrived. A few drops of Itchy Skin Oil brought immediate relief.

How does Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil reduce itchiness?

The ingredients in Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil have been purposefully chosen due to their soothing capabilities. The products used are natural and organic to reduce irritation in already dry and irritated skin.

Why is my skin itchy?

Itchy skin can be due to a number of reasons. As the largest organ, our skin replenishes itself constantly. In order for chemotherapy to work against cancer cells it also attacks other cells that rapidly divide, this includes skin cells. The skin then can become easily dry, and dry skin becomes itchy.

Radiotherapy is also a perpetrator of itchy skin. In order to target radiotherapy to the tumour cells, it has to go through the skin. What is left is called a “reaction area.” Reaction areas are very similar to sunburn, in they become red, dry and itchy.

How can I reduce the itchiness?

Skin care is very important when undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Moisturising the skin with chemo and radiotherapy appropriate products such as the Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil will help the skin maintain moisture. Drinking plenty of water will also help to reduce the itchiness if related to dehydrated skin.

Will the itch go away?

Some cancers themselves such as (cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma) cause the skin to itch, whilst for other persons it is due to their treatment or medication. If the cancer is the cause of the itch, it may be difficult for the itch to go away completely, but can be managed.

If itching is due to treatment, it should resolve once the treatment has stopped and the body has had time to recover and the skin cells have started replenishing themselves.

How often can I apply Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil?

The itchy skin oil can be applied as often as needed but should help alleviate itchiness of the skin very quickly. If you are finding that the itchy skin oil is not providing any relief from dry, itchy skin, discuss with your doctor if there are medical alternatives available.

When should I not apply Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil?

For those living with cancer, Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil can provide immense relief to dry, itchy skin. It has been recommended for those undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, for people having radiotherapy, it should not be applied before treatment.

Where should I not apply Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil?

Do not apply the itchy skin oil to broken or blistered skin, or to mucosal membranes. Do not apply the itchy oil before radiation therapy. If you find that the itchy skin oil makes your skin worse, consult your doctor immediately.

When should I apply Defiant Beauty Itchy Skin Oil?

Ideally, the itchy skin oil should be applied to your skin after treatment or breaks between treatment. The manufacturers also suggest applying the itchy skin oil BEFORE having a bath or shower so that the excess oil can be washed away.

What are the ingredients?

Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus armenica), Sunflower Oil (Helianthus annus), Peach Kernel Oil (Prunus persica), Calendula oil (Calendula officinalis), Rosehip oil (Rosa rubginosa), Vitamin E (Tocopherol).

    Didn't expect it

I bought the Itchy Skin Oil as a last resort. I was desperate and I didn't really expect it to work but I didn't have any other options. I put it on as soon as I got in and the itching stopped immediately. I was amazed. I honestly didn't expect that!

    Changed my life

I just wanted to let you know that your Itchy Skin Oil has changed my life. It has improved my radiation damaged skin so much that I am now able to wear a bra. I haven't been able to tolerate anything next to my skin for months. I was dreading the summer as I wouldn't have been able to hide in baggy jumpers. Thank you.
