Product Description

Finding informative books about cancer for teens can be very difficult as most books either cater to adults or young children. When Emma's mother got cancer she was 12 years old, she found that finding suitable information which suited her age group was incredibly difficult. To help others of her age understand, she wrote her own book.

This book is written from the heart and helps to clearly show that any emotions and fears you may be feeling are completely natural. In addition the book is also perfect for parents to help them understand how their child may be feeling.

Key benefits

  • Helpful book written specifically for teens
  • Describes emotions, fears and feelings which are completely normal
  • Brilliant for parents to help understand their childrens emotion

Why do people living with cancer recommend this product?

This book is beautifully written from the heart by a young girl who describes how her life was thrown upside down and inside out. As the mother of three grown-up children, I felt her pain, fear and confusion, as I did when my own children went through my cancer journey. I got very emotional because, even though my children are in their 20s and 30s, I related to everything she wrote about her emotions. Children should read this book as soon after diagnosis as possible, so that they know that what they are feeling is normal. It’s not something that should be shoved under their nose, but rather left lying somewhere they will find it and read it should they want to. Denial and withdrawal were reactions experienced by two of my children. It is also useful for anyone connected to a child whose parent has been diagnosed with cancer, so that they can understand the child’s emotions. I respect that this book has been written by Emma from the heart and I wouldn’t want to change any of the text or its order. It is clear and simple, making it easy to understand whatever the age of the reader. The simple illustrations are perfect for its audience.

    Love it! Recomend!!

I bought this for my daughters as I underwent cancer treatment. They are pretty though already and take the whole situation like true champs, and this book helped with them take it even better. I am very relieved they read it. I read it as well to understand their situation and found it very relatable.
