Lyonsleaf Calendula Cream FAQs
What should I do if my skin starts itching?
Minor and moderate dry and itchy skin can be relieved through moisturisers such as Lyonsleaf Calendula Cream. If you do find that creams are not relieving your symptoms speak to your treating doctor or nurse.
Can my skin still itch without it being dry (and vice-versa)?
Yes, dry skin doesn’t have to be itchy, and itchy skin does not have to be dry. In the cancer setting, dry skin is a side-effect of radiotherapy and some chemotherapies, so it is common for itchy skin to also be a related side-effect. However, some medications, chemotherapies and cancers themselves can cause the skin to be become irritated, even if it is not dry.
Itchy skin related to treatment or medication usually resolves once the treatment is finished or the medication has gone out of the body’s system. If it is due to cancer, the itch may only go once the cancer is treated.
What is calendula?
Calendula is a type of oil that is extracted from the petals of the calendula flower. Calendula is known for its soothing, anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Although no direct clinical studies have been conducted to show calendula effects, anecdotally, it is found to be very successful in soothing dry, sensitive skin.
When can I use Lyonsleaf Calendula cream?
Lyonsleaf calendula cream can be used on most skin types, but it should not be applied to broken or infected skin.
Calendula cream has been shown to be particularly effective in relieving the symptoms of dry, itchy skin following radiotherapy. It can also help soothe sensitive skin, or those whose skin has become dry and flaky due to chemotherapy.
Is Lyonsleaf calendula cream waterproof?
No, it is not, it is best applied to dry clean skin.
Is calendula cream safe to use while pregnant?
Although calendula cream is a natural bi-product of the calendula flower, it is always best to discuss products with your GP before using them, especially if you do find your dry and irritated skin becomes worse when pregnant.

a good product will buy again
Its great to be used as its quite natural, soothing and fantastic for dry skin
Works on rosacea pustules and redness
I am never without it as it cleanses, soothes, moisturises and heals
Worked well on my dry skin
Only cream that worked on rash
I have a painful rash on my hands caused by chemotherapy and before I got this cream, the only thing that made any difference at all was an expensive gel with hyaluronic acid in it. This is also expensive but worth it - easy to apply, calmed rash, smells good.
I use this to keep my fragile skin moisturised and intact as lymphoedema makes it prone to break down
I though this would be pretty much calendula only, with some hints of lavender, but it instead is only 2% calendula extract and also contains almond oil, shea butter, apricot kernel oil, other oils and some essential oils. Perhaps there is no need for a higher percentage of calendula extract due to all other beneficial oils. It is thick and still blends in rather well and claims to reduce any type of skin inflammation, therefore it is good to have and I will certainly use it whenever required. The shelf life is 12 months.
This cream smells fabulous! I've been using it on my skin and as a massage cream for some tight muscles after surgery. It's great!
Having chemotherapy at moment and face came out in very sore spots .After 1st application ( only small amount needed) spots less sore in morning and the disappeared since with application daily .
Stopped my hands from drying out.
I Love this cream..
I love this cream but please be aware that while it's great cream it smells really strongly of lavender which as a mother to two autistic children I need to be careful of as strong smells annoy them. Otherwise a brilliant cream!
