To help people live better with cancer, we donate $1000 to the American Cancer Society every month.

Why do people living with cancer recommend this product?

I used the cooling caps and even though my hair got thinner I still got to keep it which made me very happy. I used a shampoo and a conditioner that are specially designed for use along with a cold cap.

About Paxman Shampoo For Use With Cooling Cap - 200ml

Hair loss is the thing that worries most women when they are diagnosed with cancer, being concerned about how the change in their appearance will affect them and those around them. Everyone expects to lose their hair – no-one seems to realise that, in many cases, it can be prevented.

Today the most frequently used chemotherapy protocols cause complete hair loss.

Using a Cold Cap during every chemo treatment can reduce hair loss significantly and in many cases prevent it all together.

Cold Caps reduce the flow of the blood to the hair follicles as the lower temperature causes the blood vessels feeding the hair to reduce in size. Less blood reaches the hair follicle and, as the chemo drugs are carried in the blood, less of the chemo drug reaches the hair follicle. It is the drug that destroys the hair follicle cells, causing hair loss.

This shampoo is specially formulated to be gentle, soothing and free from chemicals that may irritate the sensitive scalp that results from chemotherapy.

Paxman conditioner is available here and a Paxman shampoo and conditioner multipack is available here.

Ingredients

  • Procapil® – Targets the main causes of alopecia: poor scalp micro-circulation, follicle atrophy caused by dihydrotestosterone and follicle ageing. Procapil is a combination of vitaminated biotinyl tripeptide-1 with apigenin (chemopreventative properties) and oleanolic acid. Enhancing the scalp’s production of cellular binding elements, it also helps to increase blood flow within the scalp, allowing more nourishment to reach thinning hair.
  • Allantoin – Soothes and favours skin healing. As an anti-inflammatory, it promotes the removal of dead skin cells.
  • Oleanolic Acid
  • Climbazole
  • Piroctone Olimine – Helps relieve itchiness.

  1. Paxman Shampoo and Conditioner

I found this product great for cleaning my hair. I used it because I was using a scalp-cooling system that suggested a sulphate free shampoo and other "gentle" suggestions for my hair. I was please and have continued using both since my chemotherapy treatments have ended.
