Product Questions
Why does chemotherapy cause vaginal dryness?
It’s normal to experience changes in your sex life when undergoing cancer treatments such as chemotherapy. This can be due to physical symptoms such as nausea and fatigue, or simply the emotional challenges that can accompany a cancer diagnosis. Certain drugs used in chemo treatments might also cause hormonal changes in the body which bring about early menopause. The symptoms associated with menopause are:
• Vaginal dryness
• Hot flushes
• Decreased sex drive
• Mood swings and feeling down
• Low energy
You might find that your vagina is more dry than usual which can lead to discomfort in sex. This is due to decreased levels of estrogen in the body which causes changes in the pH levels of the vagina from acidic to more alkaline. This can cause inflammation in the vaginal tissues making sex sore and uncomfortable.
Fortunately, whilst menopause might last for a while, these changes are only temporary and shouldn’t cause any permanent changes to your sex life.
What are my options for relieving vaginal dryness?
There are a number of different options you can consider if you’re experiencing vaginal dryness post treatment. Once you’ve finished chemotherapy, you might want to consider exploring hormone replacement therapy (HRT) which can help with a lot of the symptoms that come alongside menopause.
Alternatively, there are a number of creams or ointments available on prescription that your doctor might be able to help you with.
Lastly, there are a range of different vaginal lubricants and moisturisers which don’t require a prescription and are good at relieving dryness and irritation, such as Replens MD Vaginal Moisturiser.
How do I use it?
Apply once every 3 days, preferably in the morning.
Does Replens MD Vaginal Moisturiser contain hormones?
No, Replens Vaginal Moisturiser is totally free from estrogen. This makes it a great alternative to other hormone-based products, particularly if you have been advised against using hormones following cancer treatment.
How quickly does Replens MD Vaginal Moisturiser work?
Replens Vaginal Moisturisers starts working immediately upon use. However, for the best results it’s recommended that it’s applied at least 2 hrs before having sex.
How long does Replens MD Vaginal Moisturiser relieve symptoms for?
Replens Vaginal Moisturisers will typically relieve symptoms for up to 3 days.
What is the difference between lubricants and vaginal moisturisers?
Vaginal moisturisers differ from lubricants in that they have been developed to help treat ongoing issues with vaginal dryness. Lubricants are normally used right before sex to enhance intimacy. Unlike lubricants, vaginal moisturisers are normally used on an ongoing basis, and at least 2 hrs before sex. The purpose of a vaginal moisturiser is to help relieve vaginal dryness long-term rather than temporarily.

Good product, provides more moisture.

Good Deal
Product performs exactly to what it says on the box. Goods arrived on time and the only negative comment was that the packaging needs to be improved as the boxes were slightly crushed in transport.

Relief at last!
Recommended by my GP for vaginal dryness, this stuff is a godsend. I use the pre-filled applicators as there are no preservative ingredients included, and once symptoms are under control once or twice a week usage seems to be enough.

Good without hormones
Its best to use this at night when you're horizontal to enable it to be absorbed without the hindrance of gravity! Good for post -menopausal women who don't want (or cant take) HRT. It was recommended to me by a friend - not something generally talked about. I think its good.

good product
I found this to be a good product as it is non hormomal . the prefilled applicators although more expensive are easier to use than the cream alone . I have used this product for over a month now with no problems at all and will continue to use it in the future . Much cheaper to buy online than local chemists .

Excellent product gives a very natural feeling and eliminates all dryness. Can maintain a spontaneous physical relationship without the need to remember to lubricate.
