The Silver Lining
A Supportive and Insightful Guide to Breast Cancer by Hollye Jacobs
To help people live better with cancer, we donate $1000 to the American Cancer Society every month.
When diagnosed with cancer at 39 Hollye Jacobs, a pediatric and adult palliative care nurse, began writing a blog for her family and friends to keep updated on. The blog soon evolved from just her family and friends reading it, to thousands of people worldwide.
Hollye has written the book she wished she'd had when she was first diagnosed with cancer. The book is both a memoir and guide, covering what every patient can expect as they go through treatment. It covers a wide range of issues from nutrition to how to talk to children about cancer. Whilst filled with grat advice the book also concludes every chapter with "silver linings" - sources of inspiration and perspective which help Hollye through her own journey.
- Perspective of both patient and doctor
- Inspirational as well as a helpful guide full of advice
