Yoga for Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors16 people have chosen this
The scientific community has begun to understand the benefit practising yoga can have on you. Cancer Research UK officially recognizes that based on 10 clinical trials performed - "yoga could help to reduce anxiety, depression, fatigue and stress for some patients". It has also been suggested yoga may help reduce the stress hormone cortisol level, often thought of as an indicator to how patients may respond to treatment.
This DVD is suitable for seasoned yogis to beginners, with an instructor who guides you gently through the poses with soothing voice that would make the most stressed of us relax.

reat DVD, exactly what I was looking for. A little expensive but worth it. Recommend it to anyone who has had breast cancer!
Bought the DVD for a friend who hasn't done yoga before but took a sneak peek myself! I think the DVD has a nice selection of exercises. The instructor is also friendly and clear and maintains a calming atmosphere.
I started off using the Yoga for Cancer patients by the same tutor as I have Leukaemia and wanted one to progress to. This is perfect. A few more lunge and standing poses but not too much for someone recuperating. The tutor is excellent and everything is well explained - you don't need to look at the video when your head is upside down trying to check your pose!! I have used both these DVDs every day for the last 2 months which is amazing for me - I usually get bored but I feel so good from doing them it's a great incentive. I use the gentler one on days when I'm more tired and this one when I need a bit more of a challenge. Neither of them are exhausting or draining. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a chronic condition. My anxiety levels have lessened and my balance, posture and strength have all increased. Please don't be put of by the price. The fact I use it every day means it's worth every penny!
I have now been doing these exercises for about three weeks and have found them so beneficial in breaking up the scar tissue in the affected area that I cannot recommend this DVD highly enough to anyone who has undergone surgery and radiotherapy for breast cancer. The clear and concise instructions are very easy to follow, spoken in the calm and modulated voice of Denise Hopkins who talks you through a series of gentle but deep stretching exercises that are very effective in getting to any problem areas. I am noticing the improvement of suppleness in my joints and muscles already and although I don't always have time to complete the 50 minute section of exercise, I can always manage the important arm exercises where I need it most and always feel better for it. It is an expensive DVD but definitely worth it and I wish she had other DVDs available that I could progress to
